Job summary

Jobs4IT is seeking an experienced Power BI Software Developer to design, develop, optimize and maintain enterprise-level BI solutions. You will transform business requirements into technical solutions, build dashboards, data models, and paginated reports, and ensure performance, security, and quality.

The role collaborates with business stakeholders and IT teams across the full SDLC, and you will provide advanced support for BI solutions within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a Power BI Developer role or similar.
• Strong experience in building interactive dashboards and data models.
• Proficient in DAX, Power Query (M), and SQL Server/T-SQL optimization.
• Experience with RLS/OLS security models and data access strategies.

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Software Developer to design, develop, optimize, and maintain enterprise-level Business Intelligence solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming business requirements into technical solutions, developing interactive dashboards and reports, designing efficient data models, and ensuring high standards of performance, security, and software quality.

The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders and technical teams, contributing throughout the full software development lifecycle, and providing advanced technical support for Power BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Power BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, data models, and paginated reports.
• Translate business and technical requirements into technical designs and solution specifications.
• Develop and optimize data models, data transformation processes, and business logic using Power BI, DAX, Power Query (M), and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Optimize report performance and data processing through efficient T-SQL queries, database views, source-level optimization, and query folding.
• Implement appropriate data security mechanisms, including Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS).
• Integrate Power BI solutions with external systems and data sources through Web Services, REST APIs, and HTTP APIs.
• Lead and coordinate technical development activities, supporting team members and promoting best practices.
• Participate in requirements analysis, solution prototyping, testing, quality assurance, deployment, change management, and release management.
• Estimate development effort and timelines, monitor software metrics, and ensure compliance with established development standards.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, specifications, and implementation details.
• Identify technical challenges and propose effective, scalable, and secure solutions to meet business needs.
• Provide second- and third-line technical support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of existing solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate requirements, present solutions, and communicate technical concepts effectively.
• Work within Agile/Scrum teams and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Technical Skills

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a Power BI Developer or Full-Stack Power BI Developer role.
• Strong experience in developing custom Power BI solutions, interactive dashboards, data models, and paginated reports.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, including query optimization, database views, and data access strategies.
• Hands-on experience with DAX and Power Query (M language), including data transformation and optimization.
• Knowledge of Power BI performance tuning techniques and query folding optimization.
• Experience implementing and managing RLS and OLS security models.
• Experience integrating solutions with Web Services, REST APIs, and HTTP APIs.
• Understanding of enterprise software architecture, including data, business logic, and user interface layers.
• Knowledge of UML and the ability to design and document technical solutions.
• Experience participating in the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design through development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.

  • An internationally recognized equivalent certification, subject to acceptance by the Contracting Authority.

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of overall IT experience.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant Power BI development or support experience.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Availability to work on-site.
