Job summary

International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Laboratory of Protein Metabolism. The role focuses on SUMO-ubiquitin signaling and chromatin regulation within an NCN SONATA BIS project.

You will design and execute experiments, develop hypotheses, and contribute to publications and funding applications. The position is funded for two years with potential extension and includes mentoring, collaboration, and opportunities

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or a related field.
• Strong publication record in relevant area.
• Hands-on experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, and/or cell biology.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture, advanced microscopy, proteomics, protein biochemistry, or genome editing.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to design experiments independently and interpret data.
• Organizational skills and scientific creativity.

Responsibilities

• Design, perform, and optimize experiments in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and proteomics to investigate ubiquitin and SUMO signaling pathways.
• Drive the project forward by developing, testing, and refining original research hypotheses.
• Analyze, interpret, and present experimental data at laboratory meetings, conferences, and in high-impact scientific publications.
• Contribute to manuscript preparation, grant writing, and the development of new research directions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide scientific guidance to PhD students and junior researchers.
