The Laboratory of RNA Splicing at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB) in Warsaw invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the SPRING project. The role focuses on decoding mechanisms of pre-mRNA splicing and its regulation using state-of-the-art structural and cellular biology methods.
Candidates will work on splicing quality control, transcription–splicing coupling, and interactions with the cellular environment, employing cryo-EM/cryo-ET and native
Postdoctoral Researcher position in the Laboratory of RNA Splicing
The Laboratory of RNA Splicing at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw, headed by Dr Wojciech Galej, is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher.
The long-term goal of the group is to uncover the molecular mechanism of pre-mRNA splicing and its regulation. The successful candidate will investigate selected aspects of splicing quality control, transcription–splicing coupling, and how their interactions with the cellular environment shape gene expression. The project combines cutting-edge structural and molecular cell biology approaches, including native complex purification, cryo-EM/cryo-ET and correlative imaging, offering an exciting opportunity to address fundamental questions in gene regulation using state-of-the-art technologies.
The candidate will be employed within the project entitled “Splicing Regulation in Context: Next-Generation Mechanistic Studies. (acronym SPRING)” The project received funding from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme (Grant Agreement No. 101231349).
The ideal candidate should be able to pursue challenging tasks, achieve objectives, and collaborate with other researchers. Candidates will be selected in an open competition, according to the procedure complying with the rules of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers as a part of HR Excellence in Research strategy.
