Role Purpose

We are looking for a PMO Governance Analyst to work closely with our Project Managers (PMs) to deliver our Global Business Services (GBS) transformation programmes. The role centres around driving programme rigour through effective controls and project planning; analysing delivery information, challenging gaps, and proactively managing issues and resolution. You will: Run local governance session and update project plans Check and consolidate plans and improve reporting quality Be locally accountable for the delivery of robust Stage Gates including the scheduling, support of evidence creation, owning and chairing meetings and ensuring actions and captured, owned and closed. This role suits someone who analyses information rather than simply compiling it and wants to understand how our PMs drive projects forward, as opposed to simply administrating them.. The role will allow successful candidates to develop their project controls expertise through hand‑on responsibility and build their broader project management capability as part of an international programme, working in our flagship capability centres alongside experienced leaders.

What you will be doing

Lead the local Microsoft Project (MSP) update cycle. Monitor delivery against agreed plans and highlight emerging variance, risks, issues and dependencies. Run project governance routines, ensuring information is complete, accurate and available for effective decision‑making. Own Stage Gate readiness, evidence and closure of conditions (nb: Stage Gate decision‑making would remain with the relevant accountable leaders in accordance with our Stage Gate methodology) Escalate delivery issues to the relevant lead Support risk and opportunity management, ensuring appropriate ownership, mitigation and escalation. Track cross-project dependencies and ensure impacts are visible to Project Managers and the wider PMO. Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement of GBS programme delivery practices. Build project management experience through increasing ownership of controls and defined delivery activities.

Essential Experience

Practical project, programme or controls experience, including independently running agreed routines and escalating exceptions. Good understanding of planning, dependencies and baseline variance, alongside risk, issue, governance and reporting disciplines. Experience maintaining and analysing project information rather than simply collating it. Able to identify gaps, inconsistencies and emerging issues and elevate appropriately. Strong organisational and analytical skills with good attention to detail. Able to work effectively with Project Managers and multiple stakeholders. Proactive approach with willingness to take ownership and follow issues through. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Interest and capability to develop further within the project management profession.

Desirable experience

Transition, transformation, GBS or Shared Services experience. Exposure to business case, benefits or financial tracking. Experience scheduling in Microsoft Project (MSP) or an equivalent tool, or using other project controls tools and methodologies. Working towards APM, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent project management qualification. 2+ years of professional experience
