Job summary

Perrigo is recruiting a Payroll Specialist to join our Global People Solutions team, based at the Business Services Centre in Warsaw. You will perform end-to-end payroll for multiple European countries, primarily focused on the DACH region in the short term, and provide back-up support for other countries as needed.

• Minimum of 3 years experience in an operational payroll or related function.
• Payroll experience in international context/multiple countries is highly desirable.
• Proficient knowledge of English is required.
• Working knowledge of German language would be an advantage.
• Advanced excel skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead, prepare and execute recurring payroll closes for multiple countries in collaboration with the local payroll provider.
• Ensure all change information is submitted to the payroll provider for processing or input in the payroll application.
• Ensure compliance with audit/governance requirements and legal regulations.
• Deliver accurate and timely payroll by completing all pre-defined steps from pre- to post payroll.
• Validate payroll calculations to identify and resolve anomalies.
• Serve as go-to person for payroll-related questions from client groups.
• Collaborate with Employee Lifecycle Team to ensure smooth day-to-day payroll operations.
• Support internal stakeholders in payroll queries, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Build relationships with external partners (payroll providers, pension/health insurers).
• Support payroll-related projects and audits; execute year-end activities on time.

Description Overview

We are excited to recruit a Payroll Specialist to join our Global People Solutions team, based at our Business Services Centre in Warsaw. In this role, you will perform all end to end payroll and related activities necessary for the timely calculation of accurate wages and salaries to company associates in multiple European countries, primarily focused on DACH region on the short term. This role will also support other countries as back up within the payroll team.

We currently work in a hybrid model: 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.

Scope of the Role

• Lead, prepare and execute the recurring payroll closes for multiple countries in close collaboration with the local payroll provider
• In close collaboration with the local Employee Lifecycle Team, ensure all change information is submitted to the local payroll provider for them to process the input in the local payroll application or process all change input submitted by the local Employee Lifecycle Team in the payroll application where managed service is not in place.
• Comply with internal and external audit/governance requirements, legal regulations and approval processes.
• Show commitment to deliver accurate and timely payroll execution by completing all pre-defined processing steps from pre- to post payroll in an independent manner.
• Conduct thorough validations and checks in order to proactively identify anomalies in the trial payroll calculations and swiftly act & resolve to avoid corrections.
• Act as go to person for payroll related questions from your client groups
• Build a solid relationship with the Employee Lifecycle Team to ensure smooth day to day collaboration
• Support internal stakeholders in payroll related queries, including reconciliation activities, payroll posting, Finance reporting, HR queries, …
• Build a solid relationship with external partners, including payroll providers, pension plan providers, health insurance providers, …
• Support in any payroll projects, internal & external audits, …
• Execute all payroll related year end activities in a timely manner to ensure compliance at all time.
• Build and execute a robust set of checks & controls to ensure payroll accuracy before and after the payroll run, including preparation of payroll related reporting.
• Act as an owner and subject matter expert on social legislation for the countries in scope.
• Document knowledge and process instructions to ensure a solid backfill plan when needed.

Experience Required

• Minimum of 3 years experience in an operational payroll or related function
• Payroll experience in international context/multiple countries is highly desirable
• Proficient knowledge of English is required;
• Working knowledge of German language would be an advantage
• Resilience to cope with working under time pressure is required
• Advanced excel skills are an asset
