Job summary

Align Technology is seeking a motivated Payroll EMEA Intern to join our Payroll team. This full-time internship offers hands-on experience in a global payroll environment supporting employees across multiple EMEA countries.

You will process payroll, review data for accuracy, and prepare reports while collaborating with HR and Finance. The role emphasizes confidentiality, integrity, and the ability to work in a multicultural setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly payroll execution with internal and external partners.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and respond to inquiries.

Description

Align Technology is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll EMEA Intern to join our Payroll team. This is a full-time internship opportunity for a student or recent graduate looking to gain hands‑on experience in an international payroll environment supporting employees across multiple EMEA countries.

In this role, you will…
  • Process assigned payroll activities for selected EMEA countries in accordance with established procedures, payroll calendars, and service level agreements.
  • Review payroll input data for accuracy and completeness and follow up on discrepancies as needed.
  • Prepare and validate payroll reports and supporting documentation.
  • Support the accurate and timely execution of monthly payrolls in cooperation with internal stakeholders and external payroll provider.
  • Manage payroll-related administrative activities and maintain employee payroll records.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and elevate complex matters when necessary.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other internal teams to ensure accurate employee and payroll data.
  • Follow established payroll procedures, controls, and compliance requirements, including SOX controls where applicable.
  • Contribute to payroll process improvements, documentation updates, and special projects.
  • Ensure payroll information is handled with a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity.
In this role, you'll need…
  • University student or recent graduate, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills (minimum B2 level).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with data.
  • Positive, proactive, and eager‑to‑learn attitude.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Previous administrative experience would be an advantage but is not required.
