Job summary

Hiab is seeking a Parts Purchaser to oversee the operational purchasing of spare parts and to manage deviations in lead times, quality and billing. The role serves as the daily bridge between suppliers and the rest of the organisation.

Based in Gdansk, Poland, the position offers a hybrid working model. You will collaborate with Sourcing and Planners to ensure availability of the right material for customers and keep the customer service informed on delivery dates for backordered parts.

Qualifications

• Academic education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience.
• Structured and well-organised approach to tasks.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Procure spare parts according to planning parameters and track delivery dates.
• Identify risks to deliveries and implement corrective actions.
• Lead supplier performance management to improve KPIs like lead time and confirmation accuracy.
• Conduct meetings with suppliers to develop cooperation and achieve goals.
• Coordinate with Sourcing to ensure availability of the right material for customers.
• Collaborate with Planners for transparent material management planning.
• Keep customer service informed on delivery dates for backordered parts.
• Review supplier invoices.
• Maintain up-to-date information on purchase orders.
• Handle deviations in purchasing and invoicing processes.

Your mission

As a Parts Purchaser you will do the operational purchasing of spare parts and manage any deviations in lead times, quality and billing of the supplied parts. The role also includes a high amount of communication as the daily bridge between suppliers and the rest of the organisation.

The position is based in Gdansk, Poland and will be on a hybrid working model.

Key responsibilities

• Spare parts procurement according to planning parameters (purchasing of material and follow up on confirmed dates and suppliers ability to deliver ( OTIF)
• Proactive identification of the risk of deviations in deliveries and taking corrective and preventive actions
• Driving supplier performance management to improve cooperation/ KPIs - lead time and confirmation accuracy
• Independently conducting meetings with suppliers in order to develop cooperation, relationships and achieve result goals
• Cooperation with the Sourcing department to ensure smooth cooperation with suppliers and to achieve the goal of availability of the right material for customers
• Cooperation with Planners to ensure a clear and transparent material management planning process
• Keeping customer service informed on expected delivery dates on parts with backorders
• Reviewing supplier invoices
• Maintain high availability of information on the purchase order process
• Handling deviations in the purchasing and invoicing process.
