Job summary

Lingaro Group is seeking a senior AI/ML engineer for a freelance, part-time engagement. You will build and evolve AI capabilities, design production-grade AI systems, and collaborate with product teams to deliver measurable outcomes.

The role emphasizes hands-on development on data-intensive systems, cloud proficiency (Azure/AWS), and practical experience with Gen AI, LLMs, and agent workflows within a remote-friendly model.

Qualifications

• At least 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience on production-grade AI or data-intensive systems.
• Proficiency in Azure/AWS cloud platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Generative AI technologies and applications.
• Strong understanding of LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, agents, and related trade-offs.
• Experience designing and operating end-to-end AI systems across APIs, data pipelines and cloud infra.
• Ability to define measurable quality criteria and evaluation approaches for AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve shared AI capabilities and reusable services across multiple products.
• Design and implement production-grade AI systems including LLM-based experiences and orchestration layers.
• Create technical artifacts such as specs, evals, interfaces, and contracts to improve delivery quality.
• Define evaluation loops for AI systems focusing on quality, reliability, latency, cost, grounding.
• Collaborate with product teams to identify cross-product opportunities and integration patterns.
• Contribute to AI-native engineering practices like Spec-Driven Development and automated testing.
• Apply guardrails for AI reliability, observability, and responsible production use.
• Prototype new approaches to turn AI capabilities into scalable building blocks.
