Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Łódź is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for transformer accessories, ensuring compatibility with Windchill PLM and compliance with engineering standards.

You will collaborate with global engineering teams to define specifications for reusable parts, support migration of legacy standards into the central repository, and assist factories in implementing standardized components while maintaining data quality and accurate classifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field with 3–5 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Creo for 3D modeling; Windchill knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO, DIN, IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards.
  • English fluency required (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

  • Design and creation of 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for standard transformer accessories and components. Ensure models meet engineering standards and are compatible with PLM systems (e.g., Windchill).
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define and maintain specifications for reusable parts. Support the integration of 3D models into the central PLM repository and ensure alignment with global standards.
  • Assist factories in implementing standardized components and accessories. Analyze part data and attributes, classify them appropriately, and validate against global specifications.
  • Participate in the migration and cleansing of legacy standards into the central repository. Provide operational support for classification and attribute selection of standard parts.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Supplier Quality teams to verify mapping of global standards to supplier products.
  • Ensure high data quality and consistency across standard transformer components. Work closely with cross-functional teams to define classification structures and attributes.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

The opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our global R&D team. This role is primarily focused on the creation of 3D models and 2D drawings representing standard parts and accessories used in transformers. You will play a key role in supporting the development and maintenance of reusable components within our central engineering repository.

Your background
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineeringor a related field with 3-5 years of experience
  • Proficiency in PTC Creofor 3D modeling is essential. Familiarity withPLM systemssuch asPTC Windchillis a plus.
  • Strong understanding of international standards (ISO, DIN, IEC, IEEE, ANSI). Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
  • Experience in thetransformer industryor similar mechanical engineering domains is preferred. Experience withEngineering Change Management (ECM)processes is a plus.
  • Exposure todata analysis and classificationof engineering components is beneficial. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
