Job summary

Opex Energy is seeking an experienced Operations Shift Supervisor (Control Room Operator) for Ostroleka, Poland. You will supervise plant operations from the Control Room and coordinate field operators during commissioning, start-up, and normal operation to ensure safe and reliable performance.

The role requires strong DCS knowledge, PTW coordination, and adherence to OEM procedures, with English as the working language. Start date August; location Ostroleka (Poland); ~220 h per month.

Qualifications

• Experience in operations of Combined Cycle Power Plants.
• Proficient in Control Room (DCS) operation.
• Strong shift supervision capability.
• Experience with plant start-up and shutdown.
• Experience with performance testing and emergency response.
• Familiarity with Permit to Work (PTW) systems and field coordination.
• Ability to work with OEM procedures and client management.
• Professional English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate the plant through the Distributed Control System (DCS).
• Coordinate all Control Room and Field Operations personnel.
• Perform plant start-up, shutdown, load changes, and emergency operations.
• Monitor plant performance and optimize operating parameters.
• Execute plant operating procedures.
• Coordinate commissioning and start-up activities with the Commissioning Team.
• Support Performance and Reliability Tests.
• Issue and control Permit to Work (PTW) documentation.
• Ensure compliance with plant operating procedures and safety requirements.
• Respond to alarms, trips, and abnormal operating conditions.
• Coordinate plant isolation and equipment release for maintenance activities.
• Prepare shift reports, operational logs, and handover documentation.
• Support troubleshooting activities together with Maintenance and OEM specialists.

Overview

Opex Energy is looking to recruit an experienced Operations Shift Supervisor (Control Room Operator) to support the commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and commercial operation ofOstroleka (Poland) Combined Cycle Power Plant.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising plant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant systems from the Control Room and coordinating field operators during commissioning, start-up, shutdown, and normal plant operation.

The position requires close coordination with Commissioning, Maintenance, Construction, OEM representatives, and Client management to ensure plant availability while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational performance.

Required Profile

We are looking for professionals with proven experience in:

• Operation of Combined Cycle Power Plants.
• Control Room (DCS) operation.

• Coordination of field operators.
• Operation under OEM and plant operating procedures.

Languages

• English: Professional working proficiency (mandatory).
• Polish: will be considered an advantage.
