Job summary

AutoStore™ in Koszalin, Poland, seeks an Operations Manager to lead Planning, Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, and related functions. The role reports to the General Manager and will act as deputy when required, shaping site performance and growth.

You will drive Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring safety, quality, and cost targets while developing a high-performing team.

Qualifications

  • Significant leadership experience in an international manufacturing environment.
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of plant economics and financial impact.
  • Experience managing budgets and accountability for business performance.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex operations.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and CI initiatives.
  • Proven ability to build, develop, and lead teams.

Operations Manager (f/m/d)
The Role

We are looking for an experienced operations leader to join our manufacturing site in Koszalin.

This role is responsible for leading several key operational functions across the site while supporting the continued growth and development of the organization. The Operations Manager combines operational leadership, business acumen, people development, and continuous improvement to ensure strong business performance and operational excellence.

Working closely with the General Manager, the Operations Manager plays an active role in decisions impacting site performance, organizational development, and the achievement of business objectives. The role also serves as deputy to the General Manager.

Key Areas of Responsibility
Operations Leadership
  • Lead and develop the Planning, Procurement, Warehouse Operations, Logistics, Logistics Engineering and Order Confirmation functions.
  • Ensure operational excellence across quality, delivery, cost, inventory and productivity metrics.
  • Build effective end-to-end processes and foster strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support business growth through operational planning and execution.
  • Support the development of organizational capabilities required for future growth.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures.
People and Organizational Development
  • Build and develop high-performing teams and leaders.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and safety.
  • Identify and develop talent across the organization.
  • Drive succession planning and capability building within the areas of responsibility.
  • Lead teams effectively through periods of change and growth.
Continuous Improvement
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Lead process optimization efforts using Lean tools and methodologies.
  • Support the implementation of automation, digitalization, and new technologies.
  • Ensure processes remain scalable and capable of supporting future business growth.
Business Performance
  • Own operational performance and delivery of business objectives within the areas of responsibility.
  • Manage operational budgets and support cost optimization initiatives.
  • Monitor KPIs, analyse trends, and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Support investment projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Use data and facts to drive decision-making.
Partnership with the General Manager
  • Act as a trusted leadership partner to the General Manager.
  • Contribute to decisions impacting site performance and long-term development.
  • Support strategic business initiatives and organizational development efforts.
  • Participate in local and global initiatives.
  • Serve as deputy to the General Manager when required, assuming leadership and decision-making responsibilities during periods of absence.
Experience
What We Are Looking For
  • Significant leadership experience in an international manufacturing environment.
  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of plant economics and how operational decisions affect financial performance, cost, inventory, cash flow, and profitability.
  • Experience managing budgets and being accountable for business performance
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex operations spanning multiple business functions.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in building, developing, and leading teams.
Competencies
  • Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to build authority, engagement, and trust within teams.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate strategy into operational execution.
  • Ability to constructively challenge the status quo and drive change.

Tools and Systems
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using Power BI to drive data-based operational decisions.
  • Familiarity with AI tools supporting data analysis and process efficiency will be considered an advantage.
Languages
  • Fluent Polish.
  • Very good command of English, enabling effective communication in an international business environment.
