Job summary

ASBIS is expanding its internal IT department and seeking an Observability Engineer (Zabbix / Grafana) to design and build a scalable, reliable monitoring infrastructure for three key internal projects: Global ERP (Java + DB2), Local ERP (Python/Odoo + PostgreSQL), and Websites (Nuxt.js/PHP).

You will develop monitoring, create Zabbix templates, build Grafana dashboards, investigate incidents, reduce alert noise, and migrate metrics to Prometheus, while supporting on-call engineers and ensuring

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Zabbix: items, triggers, templates, and discovery.
• Experience with Grafana: dashboards, data sources, and alerting.
• Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SNMP, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Basic Bash scripting skills.
• Understanding of monitoring and alerting principles, including what makes a good alert, the purpose of thresholds, and baseline monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance monitoring of networks, servers, and virtualization across three data centers.
• Create and maintain Zabbix templates, including items, triggers, discovery rules, and automatic detection of new equipment.
• Build Grafana dashboards tailored to the needs of the infrastructure team and management.
• Investigate incidents from alert detection through root cause analysis and postmortem reviews.
• Reduce alert noise and improve monitoring quality to ensure on-call engineers are alerted only when necessary.
• Participate in migrating part of the monitoring metrics to the Prometheus stack.

About the position:

We are expanding our internal IT department and looking for an Observability Engineer (Zabbix / Grafana) to design and build a transparent, scalable, and reliable infrastructure for three key internal projects:

• Global ERP — Java + DB2 (migration from legacy systems to a modern stack).
• Local ERP — Python (Odoo) + PostgreSQL (on-premises containerization).
• Websites — ~80 Nuxt.js + PHP applications requiring CI/CD modernization, observability, and containerization.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and enhance monitoring of networks, servers, and virtualization across three data centers.
• Create and maintain Zabbix templates, including items, triggers, discovery rules, and automatic detection of new equipment.
• Build Grafana dashboards tailored to the needs of the infrastructure team and management.
• Investigate incidents from alert detection through root cause analysis and postmortem reviews.
• Reduce alert noise and improve monitoring quality to ensure on-call engineers are alerted only when necessary.
• Participate in migrating part of the monitoring metrics to the Prometheus stack.

MUST HAVE:

• Hands-on experience with Zabbix: items, triggers, templates, and discovery.
• Experience with Grafana: dashboards, data sources, and alerting.
• Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SNMP, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Basic Bash scripting skills.
• Understanding of monitoring and alerting principles, including what makes a good alert, the purpose of thresholds, and baseline monitoring.

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with Prometheus and understanding of time-series data models.
• Basic knowledge of Docker and container technologies.
• Experience working with logs and centralized logging solutions.
• Experience with capacity monitoring and capacity planning.
• Networking knowledge at the CCST Networking level or equivalent, including routing and switching.
• Basic administration experience with Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and Hyper-V.
• Strong documentation habits and a preference for documenting configurations rather than relying on memory.
