This role offers the opportunity to help shape our future monitoring architecture, introduce modern observability practices, expand OpenTelemetry adoption, improve SLO governance, and build the tooling that enables proactive detection and faster recovery across a global payments platform.

As part of the Observability and Tooling team, you will own the observability lifecycle end-to-end, from architecture and design through

Qualifications

• 3+ years in observability/monitoring/tooling engineering or tooling-heavy operations.
• Hands-on with Jira/Jira Service Management as primary service management platform.
• English fluency; based in Ireland or Poland.

Responsibilities

• Configure, tune and operate monitoring across Planet’s multi-vendor estate; own alert lifecycle.
• Build dashboards and SLO reports for the Command Centre and reporting.
• Manage monitoring as code; integrate ITSM and CMDB tools like Jira and Device42.
• Automate repetitive tasks; implement runbooks and self-healing where possible.
• Apply AI and AIOps for correlation, noise reduction and anomaly detection.
• Instrument services to golden-signal metrics: latency, traffic, errors, saturation.
