Job summary

We are a multinational defence organisation relocating staff to Norfolk, Virginia, with NATO-5 visa support. The role focuses on protecting events, staff, and international travel through risk assessment, planning, and on-site oversight.

You will lead security operations for high-profile events, analyse data from multiple sources, and coordinate with authorities to ensure safety and mission success. This is a long-term engagement with renewal each year.

Qualifications

• Five years in security administration or risk management with responsibility for high-profile events and international travel.
• Three years planning security for major events involving VIPs or multinational operations.
• Recognised risk management or security certification; crisis management is a plus.
• Ability to collect, analyse and interpret security data from open sources and reporting for briefs.
• Proven ability to work with stakeholders at all levels, from leadership to law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Analyse travel database to identify high-risk destinations for staff on duty travel.
• Collect and analyse security information from open sources to assess risk ahead of travel.
• Provide travellers comprehensive security briefings tailored to the mission.
• Develop security plans for high-risk events and missions per policy.
• Run risk assessments, security audits, and site surveys at planned venues.
• Review attendee lists for non-member participants and evaluate counter-intelligence risk.
• Prepare security briefs for senior approval and oversee events on-site during registration and check-in.
• Coordinate security for high-profile events with local authorities and partner agencies.
• Write after-action reports and convert lessons into historical records.
• Brief internal stakeholders on security requirements, risk management and priorities.
