The Opportunity
EVEREC is exclusively partnering with an innovative, technology-led engineering business specialising in advanced electric motor and electromechanical systems.
The company is expanding its manufacturing capabilities in Poland and is seeking an experienced Motor Production Technologist to play a key role in establishing, developing and optimising its production operations.
This is a highly hands-on technical position, offering significant responsibility for manufacturing processes, quality standards, production efficiency and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and production teams to develop robust manufacturing processes, resolve technical challenges and support the transition from prototype development into low-volume series production.
This opportunity would suit an experienced electric motor manufacturing specialist who enjoys practical problem-solving, process development and taking ownership of technical production activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and optimise manufacturing processes for BLDC and PMSM electric motors.
- Establish production processes for stator winding, rotor assembly and complete motor assembly.
- Set up and optimise needle-winding and hand-winding operations, ensuring consistent manufacturing quality.
- Manage critical winding parameters, including wire tension, layer sequencing, fill factor and insulation integrity.
- Support the installation, commissioning and setup of new manufacturing equipment and production lines.
- Establish incoming quality-control procedures for components including magnets, laminations, winding wire and bearings.
- Carry out Hi-Pot and surge testing on wound stators to identify insulation failures and winding defects.
- Conduct back-EMF and dynamometer testing on completed motors, assessing performance, efficiency and thermal characteristics.
- Investigate production defects, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions, process routings, quality-control procedures and technical documentation.
- Work closely with design engineering teams to improve manufacturability, product quality and production efficiency.
- Establish and maintain production traceability, batch records, test reports and non-conformance documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing consistency, reduce defects and optimise production processes.
- Help transition manufacturing operations from prototype and small-batch assembly into reliable low-volume series production.
Experience & Requirements
Direct hands-on experience in electric motor manufacturing, winding and assembly is essential.
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in electric motor production, coil winding or electromechanical assembly.
- Practical, hands-on experience assembling electric motors, including stator and rotor components.
- Direct experience with needle winding and/or hand winding.
- Good technical understanding of BLDC (Brushless DC) and PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) construction and manufacturing.
- Knowledge of winding processes, including wire tension, fill factor, layer sequencing and insulation integrity.
- Experience with electrical motor testing techniques, including Hi-Pot, surge, back-EMF and dynamometer testing.
- Understanding of incoming component inspection, quality-control procedures, non-conformance reporting and root-cause analysis.
- Experience creating, interpreting and maintaining manufacturing work instructions, process routings and QC documentation.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot manufacturing defects and resolve practical production challenges.
- Confidence working closely with design engineers, technical teams and manufacturing stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, practical problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to process improvement.
- Native or fluent Polish and professional working English.
- Willingness to work on-site during the initial manufacturing setup phase, with flexibility regarding the final facility location within Poland.
This is not a general manufacturing engineering position. Applicants must have direct experience with electric motor production, winding and assembly processes.
Highly Desirable
- Experience manufacturing motors for UAVs, drones or unmanned systems.
- Previous involvement in establishing new electric motor production lines.
- Experience transitioning products from prototype development into low-volume series manufacturing.
- Knowledge of VPI potting and electrical insulation processes.
- Rotor balancing and magnet retention techniques, including adhesives, carbon-fibre bandaging or steel retaining rings.
- Experience handling Litz wire and selecting appropriate wire gauges or strand configurations.
- Vibration analysis and FFT testing.
- Familiarity with NdFeB magnets and electrical steel grades.
- Experience working with international component suppliers, particularly Chinese manufacturers.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, Kaizen or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in specialist, engineering-led or low-volume manufacturing environments.
Working Arrangements
The role will initially require a significant on-site presence in Poland while the manufacturing equipment is installed, production processes are established and the operation becomes fully functional.
The final manufacturing location is still being determined, so applications are welcomed from suitable candidates throughout Poland who are open to travel or relocation where required.
Once production is established and operating consistently, there may be opportunities for greater hybrid or remote-working flexibility, depending on operational requirements.
The position operates standard working hours, without unusual shift patterns.
What's on Offer
