Job summary

Vention, a global engineering partner to tech leaders and startups, is seeking a Ruby-focused software developer to deliver production-ready code and contribute across the full software development lifecycle.

You will work with relational and NoSQL databases, front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/TypeScript with Vue.js or React), and testing frameworks (RSpec/Cucumber). English proficiency (B2+) is required, with opportunities to work with English-speaking clients. Cloud experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on software development with Ruby.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Strong frontend skills: HTML, CSS, TypeScript, Vue.js or React.
• Experience with RSpec and Cucumber.
• English at B2 level or higher, with client communication.
• Experience with AI tools for agentic development.
• Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Growth mindset and commitment to Ruby best practices.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of scalable solutions with a focus on delivering production-ready code.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including business logic and feature implementation.
• Collaborate with your team through demos, Scrum ceremonies, and internal knowledge-sharing events.
• Support project estimation and planning to align development with business goals.
• Conduct code reviews and write automated tests to ensure reliability and maintainability.
• Work on continuous technology integration to keep the product and stack up to date.
• Optionally mentor, participate in technical interviews, or share knowledge at dev meetups.

What you'll do

• Contribute to the development of scalable solutions with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, production-ready code
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including business logic and feature implementation
• Collaborate with your team through demo sessions, Scrum ceremonies, and internal knowledge-sharing events like Idea Talks
• Support project estimation and planning to align development efforts with business goals
• Conduct code reviews and write automated tests to ensure code reliability and maintainability
• Work on continuous technology integration to keep the product and stack up to date
• Optionally, engage in mentoring, technical interviews, or share your knowledge during internal or external dev meetups

What you bring

• At least 3 year of hands-on experience in software development with Ruby
• Solid understanding of databases such as Postgres and MongoDB
• Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, TypeScript, Vue.js or React
• Strong knowledge of testing frameworks such as RSpec and Cucumber
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher, with experience in communicating with English-speaking clients
• Strong experience with AI tools for agentic development
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP will be a plus
