Job summary

Vention, a global engineering partner in Wroclaw, seeks a software engineer with 3+ years of Ruby experience to develop scalable, production-ready code. You’ll work across backend and frontend stacks (Ruby, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, TS/HTML/CSS, Vue/React) and participate in end-to-end lifecycle and client communications.

You’ll join a hybrid team in Poland, contribute to code reviews, testing, and CI while engaging in knowledge-sharing events and potential mentoring.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on software development with Ruby.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, TypeScript, Vue.js or React.
• Solid testing with RSpec and Cucumber.
• English proficiency at B2+ for client communication.
• Experience with AI tools for agentic development.
• Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP are a plus.
• A growth mindset and ongoing Ruby/industry practice learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable solutions with production-ready code.
• Participate in full software development lifecycle and feature implementation.
• Collaborate through Scrum ceremonies and knowledge-sharing events.
• Assist in project estimation and planning to align with goals.

What you’ll do

• Contribute to the development of scalable solutions with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, production-ready code
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including business logic and feature implementation
• Collaborate with your team through demo sessions, Scrum ceremonies, and internal knowledge-sharing events like Idea Talks
• Support project estimation and planning to align development efforts with business goals
• Conduct code reviews and write automated tests to ensure code reliability and maintainability
• Work on continuous technology integration to keep the product and stack up to date
• Optionally, engage in mentoring, technical interviews, or share your knowledge during internal or external dev meetups

What you bring

• At least 3 year of hands-on experience in software development with Ruby
• Solid understanding of databases such as Postgres and MongoDB
• Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, TypeScript, Vue.js or React
• Strong knowledge of testing frameworks such as RSpec and Cucumber
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher, with experience in communicating with English-speaking clients
• Strong experience with AI tools for agentic development
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP will be a plus
