Job summary

Emergine is seeking a Middle Reconciliation Specialist to design, develop, and maintain automated reconciliation pipelines for large volumes of transaction data across multiple sources. You will own processes from data collection to discrepancy detection and data quality enforcement in multi-currency operations.

You will integrate external data sources via REST APIs and SFTP, implement 1:1, 1:N, and N:M matching logic, and build robust quality checks.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial experience with Python for data processing (pandas, NumPy).
• SQL: JOINs, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, and query optimization.
• Experience integrating external data sources via REST APIs, SFTP, and parsing CSV, XLSX, JSON, XML, and PDF bank statements.
• Understanding data quality principles: validation, deduplication, handling missing values, and completeness.
• Experience with Git and writing maintainable code, including logging and error handling.
• Understanding payments domain: transaction lifecycle, fees, exchangerates, settlement, holds/reserves, chargebacks.
• Experience in financial environments.
• Ability to manage tasks independently from requirements gathering to implementation and support.
• English: Intermediate.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain transaction reconciliation pipelines across providers and internal systems.
• Automate data collection from SFTP and provider panels; consolidate diverse formats into a unified schema.
• Implement matching logic (1:1, 1:N, N:M) including fee and FX tolerances.
• Build data quality checks and alerting to detect discrepancies.
• Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, fix issues at source or log level, and implement preventive measures.
• Prepare final operational and financial reports, including month-end close.
• Align reconciliation rules with Finance, BizDev, Risk & Compliance, and Support to ensure SLAs.
• Document pipelines, data schemas, and business rules.
• Identify process improvements; conduct code reviews; mentor peers.

Your expertise:

It would be great if you also have:

• Experience with multi-currency reconciliation across emerging markets.
