Job summary

A specialized cloud data processing provider in Poland is looking for a skilled individual to join their Storage team. Responsibilities include designing new functionalities, maintaining storage systems, and ensuring operational continuity based on Ceph technology. Ideal candidates will have experience with Ceph, Ansible, and excellent Linux skills. Qualifications

• Professional experience working with Ceph (independent work with RADOS/RGW/RBD/CEPHFS).

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design and testing of new functionalities within the Storage department.
• Co-create and prepare new storage clusters.
• Develop and maintain tools that support the proper functioning of storage systems.
• Ensure continuity of infrastructure operations based on Ceph.
• Respond to ongoing issues and incidents in the infrastructure.
• Contribute to the standardization and automation of the environment.
• Update technical documentation.

CloudFerro is a provider of cloud data processing services . It provides and supports cloud computing for specialized markets, including the European space industry, climate research and science.

It has extensive experience in storing and processing large data sets, including multi-petabyte Earth observation satellite data repositories. CloudFerro solutions are used by leading companies and scientific institutions in Europe from various market sectors that process large data sets: European Space Agency (ESA), EUMETSAT, European Center for Medium-Range Forecasts (ECMWF), Mercator Ocean International, German Aerospace Agency (DLR), EGI and many others.

Due to our dynamic development, we are looking to join our team a:

What will be your tasks?

• Participating in the design and testing of new functionalities within the Storage department,
• co-creating and preparing new storage clusters,
• developing and maintaining tools that support the proper functioning of storage systems,
• ensuring continuity of infrastructure operations based on Ceph,
• responding to ongoing issues and incidents in the infrastructure,
• contributing to the standardization and automation of the environment,
• updating technical documentation.

What are we expecting from you?

• Professional experience working with Ceph (mid-level — independent work with RADOS/RGW/RBD/CEPHFS),
• experience with Ansible,
• experience in system monitoring using Prometheus/Alertmanager,
• experience with Docker or other containerization technologies,
• practical knowledge of Linux systems (administration, troubleshooting),
• knowledge of Python or C++,
• knowledge of Git,
• analytical problem-solving skills,
• very good command of English at B2/C1 level.

An additional advantage will be:

• knowledge of commercial storage solutions, especially: NetApp (Data ONTAP, SnapMirror, NFS/CIFS) and DAOS (principles of operation, architecture, basic administration),
• experience with OpenStack, ELK/Opensearch,
• experience with Proxmox, HAproxy, Nginx,
• contributions to Open Source projects, especially Ceph,
• experience with CI/CD and process automation.
