Job summary

CloudFerro is seeking a Senior Software & Platform Engineer to define architectural standards and collaborate with product teams on highly demanding satellite data projects. You will guide engineering efforts, promote best practices, and contribute to scalable, reliable systems using Python/Go, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling.

You will work in a hybrid model, with three days per week in the Warsaw office, and enjoy autonomy, a collaborative environment, and opportunities to influence technology

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python or Go.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes from an application perspective.
• Experience designing standards for CI/CD, GitOps and Observability (Prometheus/Thanos).

Responsibilities

• Define engineering standards: establish architectural patterns and best practices across Observability, CI/CD, GitOps and Kubernetes.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to development teams tackling complex tech challenges.
• Contribute to design of highly available, scalable systems considering technical and business needs.
• Promote clean coding practices and rigorous code reviews to raise engineering quality.

As part of ourEnterprise Architecture team, you will help define architectural and engineering standards across the organisation while working directly with product teams on some of our most technically demanding projects — including satellite data processing solutions for ESA.

Due to our dynamic development, we are seeking talented individuals to join our team as a:

Senior Software & Platform Engineer

Your responsibilities:

• Defining engineering standards: Establish architectural patterns and best practices across Observability, CI/CD, GitOps and Kubernetes.
• Supporting engineering teams: Provide hands‑on technical guidance and consulting to development teams tackling complex technology, performance and integration challenges.
• Shaping scalable solutions: Contribute proactively to the design of highly available and scalable systems, taking both technical and business requirements into account.
• Driving engineering quality: Promote clean coding practices in Python and Go, TDD, effective code reviews and the use of AI‑powered tools to improve engineering workflows and productivity.

Tech stack & engineering standards:

• Core & Code: Python, Go (experience or willingness to learn), Linux.
• Nice to have: NATS, Temporal, OpenBao.

What we’re looking for:

• At least 8 years of commercial software engineering experience, including building high‑performance distributed systems and a strong understanding of the architectural challenges involved.
• Strong proficiency in Python or Go, with a solid understanding of clean code principles and high engineering standards.
• A good understanding of Kubernetes from an application perspective, including the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in Kubernetes environments.
• Hands‑on experience designing and implementing standards for CI/CD, GitOps and Observability, particularly with Prometheus and Thanos.
• The ability to share knowledge, lead constructive technical discussions and support other engineers in solving complex problems.
• A university degree in Computer Science or a related field and good working proficiency in English.
• Availability to work in a hybrid model, with at least 3 days per week from our Warsaw office.

We create and develop advanced distributed systems. Their task is to provide services for the extensive processing of satellite data, of which we collect and catalogue vast quantities. In order for our systems to work efficiently, we need services to retrieve, describe and record this data.
