Job summary

ROCKWOOL Poznań seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join the Spinning & Curing team. The role covers delivering production equipment, from concept through testing, commissioning and after‑service support, across international projects.

You will bring 5+ years in mechanical design, a Mechanical Engineering degree, and English at least B2. The position offers a hybrid work model, development package, and a modern office in Poznań–Nowy Rynek.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, machine construction and 3D modelling.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of bulk material handling equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of wear resistant materials is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver key equipment used in stone wool production.
  • Lead delivery projects from order to testing and commissioning.
  • Design solutions balancing performance and cost over equipment lifetime.
  • Produce drawings and specifications; select components; support on-site implementation.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to meet design needs and ensure CE/GT compliance.

Job description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer position based in our Poznań location to join the Spinning & Curing team.

Work location: Poznań, Poland. Expected travel 40-80 days per year.

What you will be doing:
  • Responsible for delivering key equipment used in our stone wool production.
  • Work across all phases of delivery projects – from initial order and concept study through specification and design to testing, commissioning and after-service support.
  • Expert and key contributor of design solutions in your scope, ensuring the right balance between technical performance and cost over the equipment lifetime.
  • Cover design, specification, time schedule, budget and quality for your scope in the project.
  • Hands‑on with design improvements, create drawings/specifications, select the right components and support on‑site implementation with colleagues and partners at our factories.
  • Participate in small machine delivery projects as well as support large international greenfield factory projects.
  • Analyse production equipment needs and production challenges, considering investment cost, lifetime, and running/maintenance cost.
  • Make clear and unambiguous technical agreements with the internal customer and other involved parties.
  • Produce mechanical designs (drawings and/or specifications) for production equipment within your scope.
  • Communicate and collaborate with suppliers to place orders and follow up to secure compliance with specific design needs.
  • Ensure that required documentation and reporting is completed and archived in line with CE directives and GT rules.
  • Travel to factory sites to supervise implementations on site and collaborate with international colleagues.
  • Partake in budgeting and the development of tender material for suppliers.
  • Act in line with ROCKWOOL’s code of conduct and confidentiality requirements when representing the company externally.
What you bring:
  • 5+ years of experience from a similar position, working with mechanical design, machine construction, design specifications and 3D modelling using Inventor or a similar programme.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge/experience in engineering or maintaining bulk material handling equipment (transport, storage, granulation, milling) would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of wear resistant materials would be a plus.
  • Proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level, both spoken and written.
