Mechanical Designer for wastewater treatment plants (for projects in Germany)

The Global Division Transportation & Places is active within transportation infrastructure, real estate, water and environment in the Nordics and Central Europe. The division has about 6,500 employees and is structured around two segments: Road & Rail and Public & Commercial Places.

You will be joining one of six teams/sections (located in Berlin, Essen, Erfurt or Mannheim) belonging to the Water Service Area in Germany managed by Ralf Janyga (Net sale over €10 million). This Unit has currently approximately 85 employees including some who are already located in Poland and looking for further growth. Main focus for this group are projects related to wastewater treatment plants.

Key responsibilities
  • Planning and project supervision of the entire process and mechanical equipment for projects involving municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants as well as stormwater treatment plants.
  • Design and project planning of process systems and process engineering solutions for wastewater and sludge treatment.
  • Supporting project execution within an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with all involved disciplines such as civil, electrical, and structural engineering.
Must have
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a comparable field of study.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the management of projects related to municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants and stormwater treatment facilities.
  • Proven knowledge of project management for construction projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Very good organisational skills and a structured way of working.
  • Ability to work independently, responsibly, and in a solution-oriented manner.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and experience with an AVA cost estimation program.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset combined with a high level of commitment and responsibility.
Good to have
  • German language skills, both written and spoken.
