Job summary

Job description

To strengthen our Marketing team and expand our presence in the Polish market, we are looking for a Marketing Assistant who is eager to stay connected to scientific research and promote academic publishing services. The Marketing Assistant will play a key role in enhancing MDPI’s visibility as a brand and employer, primarily in the local market. This role involves researching industry trends, strategizing marketing initiatives, and executing campaigns tailored to MDPI Poland. By staying engaged with academic communities and marketing best practices, the Marketing Assistant will help drive MDPI’s outreach and impact in the region.

This is a full‑time, in‑office position in Krakow.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and analysis of marketing campaigns across various channels including email, social media, and academic events.
  • Create engaging content for social media, newsletters, and promotional materials. Help maintain the company blog and website with regular updates.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, target audiences, and competitive landscape. Provide insights to inform marketing strategies.
  • Support the organization and promotion of book launches, author signings, and other marketing events. Coordinate logistics and manage event details.
  • Monitor and manage social media accounts, engage with followers, and implement strategies to grow our online presence.
  • Work closely with authors, editors, designers, and other internal teams to ensure cohesive and effective marketing efforts.
  • Track and report on the performance of marketing initiatives. Use analytics tools to measure the success of campaigns and suggest improvements.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, maintaining marketing calendars, and handling correspondence.
  • Staying updated on industry trends and researching/evaluating academic conferences.
  • Assist in organizing travel arrangements for our Employees.
Requirements
  • Experience in a marketing role (2‑3 years), preferably in the publishing industry.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing and/or Business or similar.
  • Proficient in both English and Polish.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, international environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in campaign monitoring, analysis, and reporting, and the ability to establish measurable and achievable targets.
  • Effective problem‑solving skills, with the initiative to identify current and potential issues and determine optimal solutions.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Professional experience in academic publishing, exhibition, or strategy planning is advantageous.
  • Digital marketing skills are a plus.
