Job summary

V.Group in Poland is seeking an experienced Assurance professional to own BU cluster programs, audits, and campaigns, ensuring compliance with legislative, industry, and client standards through data-led performance analysis and continuous improvement.

You will coordinate with Fleet Teams, supervise the Assurance Technical Team and Superintendents, promote safety leadership, and support investigations, audits, and port-call preparations across vessels.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience at senior onboard rank (Master & Chief Engineer preferred).
  • Formal education in engineering or nautical field; professional qualification relevant to maritime operations.
  • Strong interpersonal, planning and organizational skills.
  • Incident Investigator qualification, Internal Auditor and ISO standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Establish Group-wide Assurance programs including vessel audits, PSC/vetting prep, and campaigns for compliance with standards.
  • Provide data-led analysis to identify performance trends and root causes for continual improvement.
  • Engage with Fleet Teams to ensure compliance with procedures and HSSEQ initiatives.
  • Promote safety leadership behaviours and engage employees and subcontractors on HSSEQ matters.

Overall Purpose

Ownership & accountability for BU Cluster programs and campaigns that assure V. Group compliance with all current and projected legislative, industry, and client standards and best practices, supporting with data‑led analysis of performance trends and root causes to ensure continual improvement of service delivery and statutory obligations, and effective adoption of new, value‑add standards as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in establishing Group‑wide Assurance programs including vessel audits, PSC/vetting preparation and campaigns to assure compliance with legislative, industry, and client standards.
  • Support continual improvement with data‑led analysis, identifying performance trends and root causes.
  • Engage with Fleet Teams, emphasizing compliance with company procedures, policies, and specific Group HSSEQ initiatives.
  • Actively engage with employees and subcontractors on HSSEQ issues; promote company safety management processes and Group’s key safety leadership behaviours.
  • Assist in managing and supporting the Assurance Technical Team and Assurance Superintendents, safety consultants ensuring effective support and value to internal functions and customers.
  • Monitor performance objectives and KPIs, aligning with Group and Marine Assurance objectives.
  • Actively engage and prepare the vessel before calling high‑risk ports.
  • Provide direct access to senior management for matters related to safety and pollution prevention; act as a Safety Culture Ambassador.
  • Coordinate Assurance superintendents’ assignments and support for onboard projects, including pre‑join briefings and technical support during visits.
  • Monitor and support the quality of internal audits and onboard training; ensure compliance with training programs.
  • Engage for SSA/SSP and SOPEP/SMPEP preparation and compliance during Flag Administration/Ro approval process.
  • Assist in conducting office audits and ensure fleet management compliance with company safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate investigations onboard, provide shore support, and review investigation reports with industry standards.
Essential Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience sailing as senior rank onboard (Master & Chief Engineer preferred).
  • Formal education in a relevant field of engineering or nautical or professional qualification in a relevant field.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with people at all levels.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Recognized Incident Investigator qualification, Internal auditor and ISO standards.
  • Experience delivering against needs of various statutory external bodies (Class, Flag etc.).
  • Significant experience engaging and collaborating with multinational and multicultural teams.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience working with relevant industry standards and systems (TMSA, OVMSA, Dry BMS, IACS, etc.).
  • Good working knowledge of ISM and ISPS codes and other standards (MLC, MARPOL, SOLAS, ISO, OHSAS, etc.) & statutory regulations relating to vessel operations.
  • Strong data analytical skills, report writing and review.
