Job summary

RWS is seeking a Software Localization Engineer to own the technical side of the localization workflow, including issue investigation and vendor support. You will help build and refine processes, scripts, and tools used to streamline localization across projects.

The role requires experience in localization engineering, Python programming, regex, and familiarity with CAT tools, JSON/YAML/XLIFF/RESX formats, and version control systems such as Git.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in localization engineering or with localization processes
• Basic programming skills (especially Python)
• Knowledge of regular expressions (Regex)
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Knowledge of additional localization file formats (e.g., JSON, YAML, XLIFF, RESX)
• Familiarity with CAT tools and localization technologies

Responsibilities

• Prepare files needed for localization, hand-offs to vendors and hand-backs from vendors
• Create or modify processes and tools necessary for localization process
• Investigate localization issues/bugs and propose or makes fixes
• Communicate with vendors and provide technical support with CAT tools
• Create or modify documentation for new or existing processes and tools
• Create or modify processes, tools and scripts needed for building process
• Analyze new projects to identify potential engineering related issues
