About The Project

We are acting as a strategic R&D extension for a top-tier global semiconductor company, tasked with building a world‑class, production‑ready software ecosystem and SDK for an unreleased, next‑generation multi‑core wireless System‑on‑Chip (SoC).

This engagement goes beyond traditional firmware validation — you will build the automated test infrastructure from the ground up to ensure the underlying silicon, low‑level HAL, RTOS integrations, wireless connectivity, and hardware‑enforced security architectures operate flawlessly under production workloads. By bridging low‑level hardware debugging with modern software quality engineering, you will establish continuous integration pipelines and Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) automation for pre‑release silicon and early developer tools.

In this role, you will act as the core quality anchor within our specialized engineering team, directly impacting the stability, security, and developer experience of a flagship wireless platform before it reaches the global IoT market. As we expand our internal capabilities, this position provides unique opportunities for career growth to a Quality Assurance Team Leader role within a new, ambitious portfolio of projects.

YOUR ROLE
Lead QA Team Across The Entire Portfolio
  • Lead designing, scaling, and maintaining an end‑to‑end automation architecture tailored for embedded systems;
  • Define the testing strategy across SDK core, wireless connectivity, security, and developer tooling;
  • Direct work with hardware‑in‑the-loop (HIL) setups, real‑time operating systems (Zephyr, FreeRTOS), and multi‑core communication protocols;
  • Collaborate closely with firmware developers, integration leads, and architects to translate technical specifications and SDK requirements into comprehensive test plans;
  • Establish robust CI/CD pipelines;
  • Integrate physical test rigs into automated workflows;
  • Triage, isolate, and debug complex integration failures across the hardware‑firmware interface using hardware debuggers, logic analyzers, and diagnostic tools;
  • Monitor test coverage, define QA metrics, and ensure strict quality gates for production‑ready SDK releases;
  • Create documentation referring to created processes and artifacts.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation, with at least 3+ years dedicated to embedded systems, microcontrollers, or System‑on‑Chip (SoC) testing and 1+ year of Leading QA team/-s;
  • Strong proficiency in Python for writing robust test automation frameworks, scripts, and hardware integration utilities. Experience with PyTest is highly preferred;
  • Solid understanding of modern C/C++ build processes;
  • Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining automated Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) test setups, continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines, and test execution on physical target boards;
  • Hands‑on experience with hardware interfaces, flash programmers, and debugging tools;
  • Hands‑on experience with testing wireless protocols;
  • Experience with automated testing of build systems, SDK components, and toolchains (e.g., CMake, West, GCC, Clang);
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to triage complex issues across the hardware, firmware, and automation framework boundary;
  • B2 level of English for cross‑functional communication, technical documentation, and direct collaboration with international teams.
NICE TO HAVE
  • Hands‑on experience testing firmware running on real‑time operating systems: Zephyr, FreeRTOS;
  • Hands‑on experience with hardware interfaces, flash programmers, and debugging tools, e.g., J-Link, ST-Link, JTAG/SWD, OpenOCD, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes;
  • Hands‑on experience with testing wireless protocols: WiFi, BLE, LoRa, 802.15.4, Sub‑GHz, WMBUS, Z‑Wave, Sidewalk and working with RF equipment (attenuators, spectrum analyzers, power meters);
  • Familiarity with testing low‑level peripheral drivers and protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, QSPI) and multi‑core embedded systems concepts;
  • Prior experience testing hardware‑enforced security features (PSA Level 3, TrustZone, TEE, Secure Boot, cryptographic engines);
  • Familiarity with FPGA emulation platforms or RTL simulation environments for pre‑silicon test execution;
  • Knowledge of low‑power testing methodologies, including automated current measurement and power consumption profiling;
  • Previous experience testing public software development kits (SDKs) and developer tools/IDE extensions (e.g., VS Code extensions).
