Job summary

OneOcean is seeking a Development Team Leader (Python) to guide a skilled development team. You will lead by example, drive engineering excellence, and ensure delivery of high‑quality, scalable software while fostering a collaborative culture.

You will collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, and other leaders to align technical direction with business goals. Strong leadership and Python expertise are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial software development experience.
• 2+ years leading Scrum teams with strong Agile knowledge.
• Strong Python and object‑oriented programming expertise.
• Experience with .NET ecosystem.
• Experience with microservices, distributed architecture, GraphQL, REST APIs, event buses, and RabbitMQ.
• Proficiency in Test Driven Development and testing (unit/integration/acceptance).
• Familiar with SQL/NoSQL (MsSQL, MongoDB), Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Python developers, aligning goals, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Mentor and coach team members for technical and professional growth.
• Promote engineering excellence through best practices in coding and testing.
• Plan and manage team capacity, sprints, and milestones for predictable delivery.
• Collaborate with other Team Leaders, Development Managers, Architects, and Product Owners.
• Ensure adoption of agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) within the team.
• Contribute to evolution of development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
