Job summary

EY GDS Poland is seeking a Python Technical Architect to lead backend and cloud architecture initiatives within EY's global delivery network. You will design scalable, secure solutions, define standards, and mentor a development team across Python services, APIs and data processing components.

You will collaborate with DevOps, analysts and architects to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, driving best practices and post-implementation reviews.

Qualifications

• To qualify for the role, you must have a Master’s or MTech/BTech in Computer Applications or equivalent.
• 8+ years of commercial software engineering experience with strong backend development in Python.
• Very good knowledge of Python including clean code, typing, testing, packaging, and debugging production issues.
• Experience designing backend services, REST APIs, event‑driven components, integrations or data pipelines with ownership of technical design decisions.
• Practical cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure, designing secure, scalable, observable and cost‑aware services.
• Experience defining or validating non-functional requirements like performance, security and maintainability.
• Experience leading developers technically: code reviews, decisions, mentoring and delivery ownership.
• Strong knowledge of architectural patterns, Clean Code, testing practices and architectural documentation.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git and automated deployments.
• Experience supporting technical communities or competencies through mentoring and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Own solution design for Python-based backend services, APIs, integrations, and cloud-native solutions.
• Define technical architecture, implementation approach, non-functional requirements and engineering standards.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, observable, resilient and aligned with standards.
• Lead a small or medium development team: distribute work, remove blockers and ensure quality.
• Review code and promote clean, testable Python.
• Drive architectural decisions and document trade-offs.
