Job summary

AtT Labs, Deutsche Telekom’s research and innovation unit, seeks a visionary leader to drive intelligent network capabilities beyond traditional telecom. You will evolve networks into capable platforms enabling human, machine, AI, and physical world interactions.

You will define research agendas, explore AI-integrated network paradigms, and build collaborations with academia, startups, and industry partners to translate ideas into strategic telecom capabilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, AI, Telecommunications, Robotics, Systems Engineering (PhD strong plus).
• Experience in network architectures, distributed AI, sensing, cyber-physical systems, or autonomous systems is valued.
• Strong systems-thinking and cross-domain mindset are essential.
• Experience in applied research, experimentation, or advanced tech strategy is desirable.
• Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
• Passion for future technologies and transformative infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the research agenda for future network capabilities.
• Explore emerging paradigms at the intersection of networks, AI, sensing, and physical systems.
• Develop and validate concepts through prototypes and experiments.
• Build collaborations with academia, startups, and industry partners.
• Identify and assess impactful technology trends.
• Translate research into strategic telecom capabilities and contribute to publications and IP.
