Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead HPC Engineer to drive modernization of high-performance computing environments for simulation-driven product development. You will architect scalable HPC across Windows and Linux platforms, manage PBS/PCS orchestration, and migrate VDI to AWS WorkSpaces/NICE DCV to boost engineering productivity.

You will evaluate portal solutions like EF Portal or Open OnDemand and support CAD/engineering tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, LS-DYNA, Matlab).

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in HPC engineering, infrastructure design, or related leadership roles.
• Expertise in HPC job scheduling and orchestration using PBS and PCS.
• Proficiency in cloud-based virtual desktop infrastructure (WorkSpaces, NICE DCV).
• Knowledge of HPC storage architectures (FSx, EFS).
• Familiarity with simulation CAD/engineering apps like Creo/NX.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy multi-AZ elastic HPC infrastructure to support scalable compute workloads.
• Design and implement storage solutions (FSx Lustre/Windows, EFS).
• Configure and manage PBS scheduler environments for job submission and resource allocation.
• Lead migration of VDI to Amazon WorkSpaces and/or NICE DCV.
• Modernize compute orchestration by transitioning to PCS.
• Evaluate and deploy front-end portal solutions (EF Portal, Open OnDemand).
• Support simulation workloads (ANSYS, Abaqus, LS-DYNA, Matlab).
• Oversee storage modernization and collaborate with R&D teams to meet workloads.
