Job summary

SoftServe is seeking a Lead Full-stack Engineer to build and maintain web applications for a large European public institution, spanning front end, back-end services, the data layer, and cloud deployment.

You will work across architecture, API design, security, CI/CD, and scalable software, contributing to design, implementation, testing, and documentation while using modern frameworks and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent with 5+ years IT experience.
• Proficient in English or French at B2 level.
• Strong front-end and back-end development capabilities.
• Solid knowledge of Java, Spring ecosystem, Hibernate and WebLogic.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Relational databases design and optimization (PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and GitLab/GitHub ecosystems.
• Familiarity with Kafka and secure coding practices.

Job description

As a Lead Full-stack Engineer, you will build and maintain web applications for our Client, a large European public institution, working across the front end, back-end services, the data layer, and their deployment in the cloud.

Responsibilities

• Development of front-end website architecture
• Design of user interactions on web pages
• Development of back-end website applications
• Implement core business logic
• Apply data and security best practices: input validation, authentication/authorization, secure storage, compliant logging and monitoring
• Design responsive applications
• Design and develop APIs
• Participating in the design and creation of scalable software
• Maintenance of code integrity and organisation
• Writing clean, functional code on the front- and back-end
• Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement
• Perform unit/integration testing, debug, fix, and validate code changes
• Deliver solutions that fulfil functional and non-functional requirements and align with user expectations
• Write technical documentation
• Develop and maintain features across the entire stack, from designing user interfaces and consuming APIs to implementing server-side business logic and database interactions
• Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms using CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies

Requirements

• University degree corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (which typically corresponds to a master’s level or 5 years of higher education), and minimum 15 years of IT professional experience
• Very good knowledge of English or French language, both spoken and written, corresponding to Level B2
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks/libraries (Angular) and the BFF pattern
• Proficiency in Java, experience with the Spring Ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring MVC), with Hibernate and Spring Boot
• Experience with JEE and Weblogic deployments
• Knowledge and experience with XML, XSD and XSLT
• Proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle), including schema design and query optimization
• Experience with Atlassian products (BitBucket, Bamboo, Jira) and GitLab ecosystem GitLab pipelines (GitLab CI/CD), including design, configuration, and optimization of automated build, test, and deployment workflows
• Experience with asynchronous processing using Kafka events
• Experience in designing, building, and securing RESTful APIs and web services, including OpenAPI/Swagger documentation
