Job summary

Nordea is seeking a Lead Developer for Financial Crime Prevention Models to join the Design, Review, Optimise and Model Management team. You will design, analyse and optimise transaction monitoring models to strengthen AML/CTF controls across Nordea Group.

The role sits at the crossroads of financial crime, data science, and model risk management, offering an opportunity to influence global TM controls and governance within a dynamic, international environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics)
• Experience in Financial Crime/AML (e.g. transaction monitoring) and technology suppliers (preferred)
• Experience as model validator or quantitative risk analyst (preferred)
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Own the development and validation of transaction monitoring models, focusing on model documentation, review and governance
• Drive model governance activities within TMU, including validation assessments and 2nd line feedback implementation
• Set and execute direction for model development and experimental design balancing analytical rigor with practical constraints
• Document model design and outcomes, looping with analytics for accuracy and transparency
• Provide hands-on support for prototyping tests and analytical methodologies
• Mentor and collaborate within analytics to design, test and implement model SOPs (data lineage, tuning, calibration, monitoring)
• Represent the organisation professionally with external and internal stakeholders
