Job summary

GlobalLogic is recruiting for a Data Engineer to migrate and modernize data assets for a UK bank project. You will transform Teradata scripts into dbt models, build scalable pipelines in Databricks, and support data migration using internal tools and cloud services.

The role emphasizes collaboration with technical leads and stakeholders, strong Python skills, and experience with Databricks and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure). Proficiency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and pipeline development.
• Strong Python programming skills for data processing and scripting.
• Practical experience with Databricks in a data engineering or analytics environment.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Experience working with SQL-based systems, including migration from legacy platforms.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformation frameworks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical leads and stakeholders.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute dbt and Python scripts to migrate tables/views and integrate with Databricks.
• Participate in data migration activities ensuring reliable data transformation.
• Collaborate with Barclays stakeholders to operate DIH and internal data migration tools.
• Assist in designing and implementing data transformation pipelines in Databricks.
• Validate migrated datasets ensuring data quality and completeness.
• Troubleshoot data transformation and pipeline issues; document processes and architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver migration tasks.
