Job summary

GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group Company, is hiring a data engineering specialist to migrate legacy data infrastructure for a major UK bank. You will replatform business logic, update data pipelines, and repoint SAS dependencies within a cloud environment.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on data engineering experience, SQL and Python, and familiarity with dbt and Databricks. You will partner with engineering leadership to deliver end-to-end migration tasks and robust data solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data engineering experience delivering production-grade solutions.
• Design, implement and optimize complex data pipelines end-to-end.
• Strong SQL and Python; build reusable scalable code.
• Experience with modern orchestration tools like Airflow/Step Functions.
• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS preferred).
• Translate business requirements into technical designs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain dbt and Python scripts to migrate tables/views and integrate with Databricks.
• Lead data migration activities ensuring reliable transformations of legacy data assets.
• Collaborate with Barclays stakeholders to operate data migration tools.
• Design and implement data transformation pipelines within Databricks.
• Validate migrated datasets for quality, consistency, and completeness.
• Troubleshoot data transformation and pipeline issues.
• Document data migration processes, dbt models, and architecture.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver migration tasks.
