Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Team Lead for the Android core product to drive key features from concept through release. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fully distributed team, with responsibilities across design collaboration, code review, and delivering reliable nightly builds.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of software engineering with strong Kotlin and Android expertise, a track record of shipping long-running background work, and a passion for improving tests and development

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering and hands-on leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, from design to release.
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team and resolve blockers quickly.
• Keep shared components in good order and consolidate when duplicates arise.
• Shift verification left to improve nightly QA.
• Participate in cross-functional discussions early with Product, Design, and Engineering.
• Handle critical issues and deliver feature releases with nightly builds.
