Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering leadership while hands-on.
• Proficient in Kotlin, Coroutines, Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture.
• Experience shipping long-running background work.
• Strong testing mindset and test coverage approach.
• Introduced lasting improvements to a team.
• Comfort with driving changes and managing friction.
• Track record delivering usable features for users.
• Ability to describe team work with AI agents.
• Product design intuition and user empathy.
• Self‑driven to improve app and codebase beyond the spec.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, collaborating with design from concept to release.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team when blockers arise and steer decisions.
• Move components to be the team’s standard version.
• Keep shared pieces reliable, tested, and consolidating duplicates.
• Lead process changes when needed to improve how the team works.
• Reduce manual steps to ensure correct nightly releases.
• Address recurring problems by changing underlying setup.
• Shift verification left with automated checks for QA readiness.
• Plan sprints to focus on undecided work and critical decisions.
• Assess review needs and establish clear sign-off criteria.
• Participate with Product and Design early to set constraints.
• Handle critical issues and nightly QA builds.
• Mentor early-career engineers with learning opportunities.
