Job summary

Merck Group in Poland is seeking a talented Sourcing Expert to join our procurement team. You will support sourcing for CAPEX, MRO, Site Services and Utilities across Germany and German-speaking regions, running RFx events in Ariba and guiding contracts to signature.

Fluent English and German are essential, as is experience in professional, international sourcing. The role offers a hybrid work model and opportunities to contribute to our shared service center and procurement excellence.

Qualifications

• Very good command of English and German for running RFx and contracting activities.
• Previous work experience related to sourcing, contracting or purchasing in a professional, complex and international company environment is essential.
• Experience with CAPEX, MRO or other technical sourcing categories would be a strong plus.
• Understanding of RFx process and RFx tools (e.g., Ariba) is preferred, as would be leading sourcing RFx projects from start to finish.
• Experience in working with ERP systems would be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support sourcing activities related to CAPEX, MRO and other technical categories for Germany and German-speaking Switzerland.
• Prepare and run RFx competitive bidding events in Ariba and manage contracting steps through to signature and execution.

This role can be done in a hybrid model.

Your role: We’re looking for a talented Sourcing Expert to join our winning team! As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting sourcing activities related to Technical Sourcing Categories (Investment Projects, Capex, MRO, Site Services and Utilities categories) for assigned business sectors/areas for Germany and German Speaking Switzerland. For high value projects you will support the Procurement Sourcing Managers by preparing and running RfX competitive bidding events in Ariba, based on our company ‘Source to Contract’ process, in order to facilitate the sourcing and contracting steps, as well as ensuring appropriate documentation and communication throughout the whole Source to Contract process, until contract signature and execution of all activities required to close the sourcing project process.

In addition, you will support the development of the envisioned shared service center organization and establish and maintain a collaborative work environment with colleagues in our company Procurement organization, to constantly enable and improve the overall process performance.

Who You Are

• You have a very good command of English and German - both written and verbal - for running RfX and contracting activities
• Previous work experience related to sourcing, contracting or purchasing in a professional, complex and international company environment is essential
• Experience with CAPEX, MRO or other technical sourcing categories would be a strong plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, engineering or other relevant discipline is required. Experience within Pharma or Chemical equipment would also be highly desirable
• An understanding of RfX process and Rfx tools f.e. Ariba system is preferred, as would be leading sourcing RfX-projects from start to finish successfully
• Experience in working with ERP systems would be a plus
