Description

Effective immediately the Child Nutrition Office will accept applications for the above Cashier/Kitchen Assistant position. This position is on duty all student contact days and school locations may vary frequently. The salary range for this position is $18.48– $21.19/hr. when working at an elementary or parochial school and $18.68 – $21.39/hr. when working at a middle or hight school, based on the 2024-2025salary schedule between ISD #197 and SEIU Local #284.

Location: All schools providing meal service in District 197

Hours: Start Time Range: 9:15/10:30AM; End Time Range: 1:00/2:15PM (3.75 hours per day)

Job Summary

Assist in forecasting daily meal needs and communicates accordingly with person in charge.
Assist with preparing and serving meals for students, staff and special functions.
Effectively operates the Point of Sale System,handles money, and prepares bank deposits.
Ensures that each reimbursable meal sold meets USDA requirements.
Performs a variety of kitchen cleaning duties.
Assist with setting up serving lines and serves meals according to meal patterns.
Projects a positive & professional image of themselves, their school and the Child Nutrition Dept. to all customers, staff and parents.
