Job summary

Alarm.com is building a new Video team in Kraków. We seek a Junior Software Engineer (SRE) to help keep the platform reliable at scale, advance observability, and support long-term growth.

You will collaborate across software, infrastructure, and data flows, turning reliability goals into practical outcomes and working with product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Early-career software development experience from work, internships, coursework, or projects.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language; C#/.NET is useful but not required.
• Familiarity with software development fundamentals, testing, version control, and code review.
• Interest in production reliability, distributed systems and observability.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS).
• Clear communication, curiosity, and troubleshooting mindset.
• Ability to work primarily from the Kraków office.

Responsibilities

• Build automation and tooling to improve reliability and performance.
• Maintain and improve core video applications.
• Improve metrics, logs, traces, alert quality, and runbooks for video apps.
• Innovate new software solutions focusing on efficiency and maintainability.
• Learn and participate in deployments, on-call operations, and incident response.
• Other duties as assigned.
