Job summary

GFT Poland is seeking a data-enabled engineer to join the AI Markets development team in Kraków. You will work with KDB+/q to build high-performance data solutions, analytics, and scalable APIs for traders, quants, and external clients.

In this hybrid role, you will optimize data access, collaborate with global teams, and contribute to resilience and governance of critical services. Strong CS fundamentals and interest in vectorized Python/R tooling are valued.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of functional programming concepts.
• Proficiency in Python and API-based integrations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize KDB+ processes and queries for low latency and high throughput.
• Build analytics layers consumed by downstream systems and AI/ML models.

• Collaborate with AI, data engineering, traders and quants to deliver solutions.

Salary range: 8650 - 13850 PLN gross

What will you do?

You will join the AI Markets development team and work with KDB+/q, one of the most advanced time-series database technologies used in financial markets. The team delivers reporting, analytics, and management information for traders, quants, sales teams, senior management, and external clients. You will help develop high-performance data solutions, optimize access to large datasets, and support AI Markets capabilities through scalable analytics and APIs while collaborating with global teams across Europe, Asia, and North America.

• Develop and optimize KDB+ processes and queries for low-latency and high-throughput applications
• Build analytics and aggregation layers consumed by downstream systems, APIs, and AI/ML models
• Expose KDB+ data and analytics through APIs and services
• Work with AI and data engineering teams to prepare datasets for model training and execution
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and capacity management for KDB+ environments
• Support resilience, failover, and disaster recovery capabilities for critical services
• Collaborate with traders, quants, sales teams, and product owners to deliver business solutions
• Ensure compliance with operational risk, model risk, and data governance requirements
• Participate in data analysis, testing, and software delivery activities
• Analytical mindset with a passion for solving complex data engineering problems
• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Knowledge of functional programming concepts or experience with languages such as Clojure, Haskell, or Scala
• Interest in vectorized programming approaches using Python, R, Matlab/Octave, or Wolfram Mathematica
• Passion for technology, automation, and continuous improvement
• Interest in large-scale data processing and basic statistical concepts
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn Linux and client-server technologies
• Interest in cloud infrastructure and AI/ML technologiesAbility to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
