Job summary

Cisco seeks a Junior Software Engineer to contribute to the development, testing, and operation of services and internal interfaces that support engineering quality signals. You will work on straightforward features, learn the product stack, and participate in design reviews and documentation.

You will grow in a collaborative environment, with guidance from senior engineers, focusing on reliability, secure coding, and production support practices as you progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with related experience or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Python or Go and solid fundamentals.
• Understanding of backend or service development concepts.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle and agile practices.
• Ability to write functional code and unit tests with guidance.
• Ability to read logs and troubleshoot straightforward issues with guidance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the software development cycle with guidance from more experienced engineers.
• Implement features, write tests, fix defects, and support deployment readiness.
• Develop and maintain service components, APIs, data collection jobs, and tooling.
• Contribute to internal applications and engineering interfaces for quality signals.
• Create and update technical documentation for the team and users.
