NerdySoft, a dedicated software development partner, builds fintech solutions for a client creating a fresh digital banking and payments platform. You will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and drive delivery in a mixed client–NerdySoft team with AI-assisted development as part of daily practice.

The role emphasizes leadership in a fintech setting, architecture decisions, secure API design, and hands-on coding while collaborating with client tech leadership.

Competenze

• 7+ years of commercial backend development with Java (17+) and Spring Boot.
• 2+ years as Tech Lead or Team Lead of 3+ engineers while still writing code.
• FinTech background is mandatory: banking, payments or lending products.
• Experience with asynchronous event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SNS/SQS).
• Designing secure public APIs for external integrations.
• AWS and Docker experience including CI/CD and database migrations.
• Strong testing culture (JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers).

• Be the main technical contact for client stakeholders

Our client isafintech company building anew digital banking and payments product from scratch. The platform will cover card and payment processing, integrations with banks and payment providers, and core financial services for end customers.

The product isatanearly stage: architecture, team and roadmap are being shaped now, and the scope will berefined together with the team. You will join amixed team ofclient and NerdySoft engineers and work closely with the client’s technical leadership. AI-assisted development ispart ofeveryday engineering.

What you will do

What you bring

• 7+years ofcommercial backend development with Java (17+) and Spring Boot

• FinTech background ismandatory: commercial experience onbanking, payments orlending products
• Production experience with asynchronous, event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SNS/SQS orsimilar)
• Solid knowledge ofconcurrency and transactions: ACID, isolation levels, optimistic and pessimistic locking
• Experience integrating external APIs and providers: retries, timeouts, idempotency, consistent error handling across layers
• Designing secure public APIs for external integrations: authentication, authorization, platform boundaries
• Architecture know‑how: DDD, Clean orHexagonal architecture; you can design asystem from scratch and defend the decisions
• Hands‑on AWS (oranother major cloud), Docker and CI/CD, including API versioning and database migrations
• Strong testing culture: unit, integration and contract tests (JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers)
• Daily use ofAI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot orsimilar): you can show how they speed you upand how you check their output
• English B2+(Upper-Intermediate orhigher): you will lead technical discussions with the client
