NATEK in Kraków seeks an experienced Java Developer to design, develop and maintain mission-critical Corporate Banking Payments applications. You will work on a mature platform spanning 20+ years, collaborating with teams in Poland, France, and Hong Kong to deliver new business and regulatory capabilities while modernizing the stack.

The role focuses on high-volume payment processing, system stability and performance in an international environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial software development experience with Java.
• Strong knowledge of Java 17/21 and backend development practices.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, JMS, and Oracle databases.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise applications and distributed teams.

Responsibilities

Join a team developing a mission-critical Corporate Banking Payments platform used by thousands of corporate clients across 40+ countries. The application is a key component of a global banking ecosystem, supporting high-volume payment processing and enabling secure, reliable financial operations for international businesses.

You will work on a mature, large-scale product that has been continuously developed and modernized for over 20 years. The team focuses on delivering new business and regulatory requirements, modernizing the technology stack, and improving platform capabilities while ensuring stability and performance. You will work in an international environment, collaborating closely with teams located in Poland, France, and Hong Kong.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain business-critical payment processing applications using Java and related technologies.
• Contribute to the ongoing modernization of a large-scale banking platform, including upgrades of frameworks, libraries, and infrastructure components.
• Analyze functional and technical requirements provided by dedicated business and regulatory teams and translate them into high-quality software solutions.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, architects, and stakeholders in an international environment.
• Perform code reviews and ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions.
• Estimate development effort, plan technical tasks, and provide status updates.
• Proactively identify improvements and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Mentor team members and share technical knowledge.

Our Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial experience in software development, including extensive hands-on experience with Java.
• Strong knowledge of Java 17/21 and modern backend development practices.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, JMS, and Oracle databases.
• Experience working with large-scale enterprise applications and complex software ecosystems.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and object oriented programming principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and development tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and SonarQube.
• Ability to work independently, proactively solve problems, and drive technical initiatives.
• Experience collaborating within distributed, multicultural teams.
• Strong communication skills and fluent English (written and spoken).
