Job summary

EPAM Systems in Kraków is seeking an experienced Java Software Engineer to join a client-facing engineering team working on mission-critical data center planning systems. You will develop new features, participate in full SDLC, and collaborate with product managers, architects, and clients to deliver scalable, high-performance software in a hybrid work setup with remote options in Poland.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Java development.
• 3+ years of experience developing and integrating software through full system implementation life-cycle (analyze, design, implement, build, test, support).
• Solid working knowledge of SQL and JUnit.
• Strong self-management, prioritization, and time-management skills.
• Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal) with proven experience in client-facing interactions.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features and refine the existing codebase to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Communicate directly with the client on a daily basis, participating in discussions with stakeholders and product teams.
• Collaborate with a team of engineers and architects to build a scalable, high-performance platform leveraged by external customers for next-generation applications and solutions.
• Participate in the full software development life cycle - from analysis and design through implementation, testing, and support.
• Operate as a proactive, self-governing team member in a modern engineering environment that values transparency, trust, individual mastery, and autonomy.
