Job summary

Volvo Group is seeking a Java Software Engineer to join one of the teams within SPIS, focusing on applications that provide parts, service, and repair information to workshops worldwide. You will work closely with Volvo Group Truck brands to deliver scalable software solutions.

The role requires 2+ years of experience in software development, strong Java skills, and experience with Spring, microservices, REST APIs, and SQL.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with Spring Framework, microservices, design and building REST APIs.
  • Experience with ORM, relational databases, and strong SQL knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of Maven and Git.
  • Experience with automated testing and writing maintainable, testable code.
  • Experience with Docker or Podman and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience troubleshooting applications using logs and monitoring tools.
  • Ability to understand requirements, contribute to technical design, and find practical solutions.
  • Very good English and good communication skills.

We are looking for a Java Software Engineer to join one of the teams within SPIS, working with existing and new applications that provide parts, service, and repair information to workshops worldwide. We work closely with Volvo Group Truck brands.

You will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You will:

  • Develop and implement new features
  • Investigate and resolve bugs
  • Understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Contribute to technical design and implementation decisions
  • Continuously improve code quality and maintainability
Who are you?
