Job summary

OneAPPS Consulting in Krakow/Warsaw hybrid is seeking a backend engineer with strong Java and Spring experience to build scalable services and APIs. You will work within a dynamic, multicultural team across Europe and contribute to cloud migration efforts as part of a microservices-based architecture.

As part of a DevOps-enabled environment, you will implement automated tests, maintain code quality, and collaborate closely with Business Analysts, QA engineers, and stakeholders to deliver

Qualifications

• Professional software development experience with Java and Spring.
• Experience building microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Kafka or RabbitMQ for event streaming.
• Hands-on in cloud environments (GCP/AWS) and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Fluent English communication and banking/finance domain interest.

Responsibilities

• Design & develop backend services and APIs with Java and Spring.
• Assist in cloud migrations and modernize architecture with microservices.
• Contribute to event-driven design using Kafka.
• Maintain code quality with automated tests and TDD.
• Collaborate in agile teams with Business Analysts, QA, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Develop: Build efficient, scalable, and reliable backend services and APIs using core Java and Spring ecosystem.
• Cloud Migration: Assist in migrating legacy systems and analytic engines to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Architecture Modernization: Contribute to a microservices-based architecture, implementing event-driven communication (e.g., Kafka).
• Quality & Testing: Write clean, robust code with automated unit and integration tests following TDD (Test-Driven Development) principles.
• Collaboration: Work within agile multidisciplinary teams alongside Business Analysts, QA engineers, and global stakeholders.
• Operations & DevOps: Support platform operations, apply DevOps best practices, and troubleshoot production incidents.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Core Skills: Professional software development experience.
• Languages & Frameworks: Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud.
• Architecture & Databases: Microservices design patterns, RESTful APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, and ORM tools (Hibernate/JPA).
• Messaging & Cloud: Experience with event streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and cloud environments (GCP/AWS).
