Job summary

Technopride Ltd in Krakow, Poland seeks an experienced Java & API Developer for a contract role with hybrid work 2 days per week in Krakow. The role requires 7+ years of experience, strong API design, and backend microservices expertise; you will contribute to future state architecture and modernization of the payment estate.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, deliver high-quality code, ensure security, and support DevOps/CI-CD initiatives in a payments-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years as API engineer or similar.
• Strong API design experience with architectural artefacts.
• Back-end microservices development with security and auth.
• 8+ years Java; Go and Rust preferred.
• Experience with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, service mesh.
• Knowledge of monitoring: Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, Kiali, OpenTelemetry.
• Cloud, DevOps, networking (VPC), IAM, and cloud cost sizing.
• Linux OS, networking, storage, and Kubernetes CNI knowledge.
• SQL coding abilities preferred.
• Experience in financial institutions/payments.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

• Bachelor’s Degree required inComputer Science, Engineering or related majors
  
• Minimum of 8 years’ appliedexperience as an API engineer
  
• Strong experience in APIdesigning and creating architectural artefacts such as gap analysis, lowlevel designs, data models etc.
  
• More than 5 years ofengineering background in back-end microservices application development,application security and authentication development, cache and middleware
  
• More than 8 years’ experienceprogramming in Java and ideally Go and Rust
  
• Expertise in JVM tuning anddiagnostic for application troubleshooting and performance-optimization
  
• Experience working with Kafka,Docker, k8s, service mesh
  
• Experience with monitoring andobservability technologies: Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Jaeger, Kiali,Open Telemetry
  
• Experience in cloud and DevOps,familiar to network (VPC) and firewall on cloud, identity and accessmanagement, cloud delivery including sizing and costing
  
• Demonstrable knowledge oninfrastructure like Linux OS, networking, storage, network load-balancing,Kubernetes CNI.
  
• Strong SQL coding abilities ispreferred
  
• Experience of working in afinancial institution, ideally in payments
