Job summary

Wipro is seeking a Java Application Support Engineer to join our Poland team. The role focuses on supporting Java-based applications across multiple sites in Warsaw, Krakow, and Gdansk, with a UoP contract.

You will work in a dynamic environment, contribute to CI/CD practices, and help ensure high-quality software deliverables. Key requirements include 4+ years in Java development or app support and fluency in Italian, along with strong Linux, Tomcat, Docker, PostgreSQL, and MySQL skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant professional experience in Java development and/or application support.
• Proficient in Linux/Unix environments and containerization.
• Fluent Italian with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, develop, code and test software systems or applications for enhancements.
• Participate in project timelines, design specs, system flow diagrams and documentation.
• Ensure code is maintainable, scalable, and performs optimally; conduct QA and code reviews.

Job Title: Java Application Support Engineer

Location: Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk

Contract: UoP

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, develop, code and test software systems or applications for application enhancements
• Participate in the devising of project timelines, implementation of design specifications, system flow diagrams and application documentation
• Ensure code is maintainable, scalable, built for ease of use, and performs optimally
• Work in or with testing team and perform quality checks and code reviews
• Where already established, continue to use the appropriate methodology for maintaining a codebase. For example, but not limited to, Peer Review, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, and Git-Flow branching strategies.
• Maintain and extend automated unit tests in codebases (if in use) as the codebase changes.
• Troubleshoot problems and work with peer teams to resolve issues
• Provide estimates and feasibility of features
• Develop and maintain operational and system level documentation

Technical Skills & Expertise:

• Fluent Italian
• 4+ years of relevant professional experience in Java development and/or application support.
• Knowledge of Java, Red Hat Linux, Tomcat, Docker, PostgreSQL, Angular, MySQL, Java Script
