Job summary

DAZN in Poland is seeking an IT Engineer to maintain the TV Lab hardware fleet and support testing across Smart TV and streaming devices. You will configure test environments, troubleshoot network and multimedia setups, and ensure devices are reliable and ready for testing.

You will also perform manual testing on DAZN apps on physical devices, document defects clearly in Jira, and collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve the testing ecosystem as devices evolve.

Qualifications

• Practical experience with Linux, Windows and iOS.
• Hands-on setup and troubleshooting of Smart TV and media streaming platforms.
• Solid networking knowledge including LAN/Wi‑Fi and device provisioning.
• Ability to diagnose hardware, network and software issues and report bugs clearly.

As an IT Engineer within the TV Lab, you’ll play a hands‑on role in maintaining the hardware, network and multimedia environments that enable our teams to develop and test the DAZN experience. You’ll work across a wide range of technologies and devices, troubleshooting issues and helping ensure our applications perform reliably across real‑world customer environments.

The Role:

As IT Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of the TV Lab’s hardware fleet, supporting a diverse range of Smart TV, connected TV, desktop and mobile platforms. You’ll configure and maintain test environments, troubleshoot network and multimedia setups, and ensure devices and testing benches are reliable, organised and ready for use.

Alongside the core IT and lab responsibilities, you’ll support manual testing of DAZN’s applications on physical target devices. You’ll investigate device‑specific issues, distinguish between hardware, network and application problems, and provide clear and reproducible defect reports to help our engineering teams resolve issues quickly.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Set up, configure and maintain physical devices and development boards across Smart TV and connected TV platforms, including LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, Titan OS, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV and set‑top boxes.
• Maintain workstations and test benches across Linux, Windows and iOS environments.
• Carry out OS and firmware updates, factory resets, device provisioning and general device maintenance.
• Configure and troubleshoot local LAN and WLAN connectivity within the TV Lab.
• Manage VLAN assignments, IP addressing, DHCP settings and static MAC address reservations for lab devices.
• Maintain reliable physical lab connections, including network cabling, HDMI connections and power.
• Configure and troubleshoot video pipeline environments, including HDMI handshakes, display resolutions and audio pass‑through.
• Diagnose issues across HDCP‑compliant signal chains and support testing across different DRM environments.
• Support testing of video streaming and playback behaviour, investigating playback errors and device‑specific issues.
• Execute manual test passes of DAZN’s core application across physical target devices.
• Reproduce device‑specific edge cases and investigate whether issues originate from hardware, networking or the application itself.
• Create clear, structured and reproducible defect reports using tools such as Jira.
• Maintain an accurate hardware inventory and ensure devices, equipment and testing benches remain organised and accessible.
• Work closely with engineering and product teams to provide practical technical insight into issues identified during testing.
• Help maintain a reliable, consistent and effective testing environment as the TV Lab and device ecosystem continue to evolve.

What You’ll Bring:

• Practical experience working with desktop and mobile operating systems, particularly Linux, Windows and iOS.
• Hands‑on experience setting up and troubleshooting Smart TV and media streaming platforms such as webOS, Tizen, Titan OS, Android TV and Fire TV.
• Familiarity with Smart TV developer settings, developer modes, application installation and sideloading.
• A solid understanding of computer networking, including wired LAN and wireless WLAN environments.
• Knowledge of VLAN tagging and assignment, DHCP, IP addressing, MAC addresses and static DHCP/MAC reservations.
• Strong understanding of HDMI connections and core audio/video concepts.
• Knowledge of HDCP compliance and signal negotiation.
• Understanding of Digital Rights Management (DRM) within video delivery.
• A good understanding of video streaming fundamentals, including streaming behaviour and common playback issues.
• A strong hands‑on hardware troubleshooting mindset and the ability to diagnose issues methodically.
• Excellent attention to detail when configuring devices and verifying application behaviour.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to isolate issues across hardware, network and software environments.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to produce structured, easy‑to‑understand technical and bug reports.
