Job summary

Netcompany Banking Services (NBS) in Warsaw is seeking an IT Consultant to help develop and maintain mainframe solutions powering our core banking platform. You will join a team focused on reliable daily banking operations, payments, and investments, with a strong emphasis on learning and career growth.

You will work with COBOL, PL/I, and C, contribute to agile processes, and collaborate with cross‑country teams to deliver robust banking solutions and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Candidates with IT/math/physics or related background are encouraged to apply.
• Willingness to learn mainframe technology and develop expertise.
• Experience with programming languages (object‑oriented and/or procedural) is ideal.

In Netcompany Banking Services (NBS) we deliver a range of different IT solutions and services to banks and savings banks in both Denmark and other Nordic countries. We provide a modern, cloud-based core banking platform to more than 50 Nordic banks, serving over 2 million end customers. Our solutions include daily banking operations, mobile and online banking, payments, investment, risk management, compliance, and open banking. We are looking for a IT Consultant to join our team in Warsaw. You will help develop and maintain the mainframe solutions that our core banking platform relies on. We are looking for someone who is genuinely motivated to build a career in mainframe technology. Prior experience is welcome, but your willingness to learn and grow matters most.

Work Tasks and Responsibilities

Mainframe technology is at the heart of our core banking platform, and as a IT Consultant, you will help develop and maintain the solutions that keep daily banking operations running for our customers.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining mainframe applications as part of our core banking platform.
• Working with mainframe technologies and tools to build and improve banking solutions.
• Collaborating with colleagues across countries and teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Contributing to agile ways of working and continuous improvement of our solutions.
• Understanding business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
• Supporting the stability and performance of the systems that handle daily banking operations, payments, and investments.
• Learning from experienced colleagues and building your expertise in mainframe technology.

About You

You are analytical, curious, and motivated to build a career in mainframe technology. You enjoy understanding how things work and are ready to develop expertise in the technologies that power our core banking platform.

We imagine that you:

• Have a background in IT, mathematics, physics, or a related field, or have some relevant work experience.
• Are genuinely motivated to work with mainframe technology and are ready to invest in learning it.
• Have experience with programming languages. A combination of object-oriented and procedural (COBOL, PL/I, C) or scripting experience is ideal.

It would be a strong advantage if you:

• Have knowledge of z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, or CICS.
• Are familiar with version control and agile ways of working.
• Have an interest in the financial sector, particularly investment and securities.
• Have experience collaborating across countries or in distributed teams.
